Stephen Sheffield, a native of the Boston Area, is an alumnus of Cornell University, where he obtained a BFA in Painting with a minor in photography. He received his MFA in photography from California College of Arts & Crafts (now CAA), in Oakland/San Francisco where he studied with Larry Sultan, Jean Finley and Chris Johnson and others.

Stephen Sheffield has exhibited nationally for many years and has a number of large-scale commissions in Boston, Cambridge and New York, and his work has been featured in many national publications. Stephen runs the advanced Black and White fine art major at the New England School of Photography in Boston.
